What people have said about qi therapies with Laura:
About AcupunctureYour Japanese acupuncture at Maggie’s was really good, helped more than anything I did post surgery.
Faith, artist I went to see Laura for very bad, persistent back and left shoulder pain caused by an old problem and a more recent mastectomy operation. She gave me Japanese acupuncture and moxa treatment, all very delicate. The result was fabulous: I got up from the couch pain-free for the first time in 3 months! I am very grateful. Martine, translator Absolutely wonderful experience both in Waterloo and in Covent Garden. Initially I came just for a shoulder injury but the depth of the experience also helped me in psychological and emotional ways. Laura is very knowledgeable and dedicated to her craft and not only did my shoulder heal but my mental health improved dramatically. Very highly recommended."\ John, artist I have seen Laura twice for acupuncture which has really helped me. The first was for shin splints ahead of a marathon, which I went on to do without any pain in my shins. The second was to back pain before a long bike race - again with positive results. Laura knows her stuff and I would definitely recommend her. I'll be going back should any issues re-emerge! Dan, parliamentary lobbyist After completing the London to Brighton bike ride my body needed some help to recover. I saw Laura for acupuncture and cupping and I am so pleased I did. The acupuncture needles applied across the tops of my shoulders and back gave great relief but the best results came from the cupping she did on my legs. The muscles in my thighs were so tight and painful following cycling for so long the day before. After a session with laura the pain in my legs significantly reduced & by the following day were almost back to normal. Laura was great and explained everything she did, so glad I booked in with her and will definitely be doing so again. Sarah, beauty therapist As someone who has seen acupuncturists beforehand for a host of medical conditions, it is truly wonderful to have been able to meet Laura. I am outstanded by her knowledge and professionalism in acupuncture which is truly great. In previous experiences I could feel every needle being used, but with her it's as if she is able to connect with every problematic nerve in my body. Since attending I am calmer both physically and mentally, more positive, and feel much more at home in my own body. Since recovering from my breast cancer a few years ago, she has done wonders. She has also helped me with my chronic back and joint pain. I can also comfortably call her a great source of advice in all aspects of life. I highly recommend her. Lily, retired accountant I would definitely recommend Laura. I’ve had migraines and eczema for years, which used to get unbearable during very busy and stressed periods. The combination of tuina massage and acupuncture has helped me to control both. The difference has been considerable since I started treatment, I haven’t had a bad migraine event for months and my eczema issue has noticeably improved. Laura has also helped me with a shoulder problem that started recently. Georgina, vet & researcher A transformation from a state of feeling lethargic, no energy into positive relaxation. I've only felt that after acupuncture. Pam, psychotherapist I am, in my seventies, suffering from post polio syndrome. Osteopathy, physiotherapy and chiropractice have been of very limited help. However, acupuncture has given me a new lease of life. Jane, retired teacher Laura's calm and thoughtful manner and her commitment to my health and wellbeing is an inspiration. I always look forward to my next treatment session with her and come away knowing my body and soul has been nurtured. Graham, architect |
About TuinaTuina massage: what a wonderful experience it is, relaxes and calms your mind and body. Laura's gentle touch eases the pain I have in my joints due to having treatment for breast cancer and makes me feel totally refreshed and positive after every session. Highly recommendable, transports you to a different and spiritual realm.
Delores, nurse I wanted to thank you for the massage - the discomfort or block that I had round my hip area since last year has really improved - I can't tell you how different it feels, a lot looser and freer and less tension. Jemima, resourcing manager, Barclays I have been seeing Laura at the cancerkin unit at the Royal Free hospital, I find Laura very relaxing the therapy she teaches just makes you want to slow down and not to rush and to think about your body. Sue, patient, Cancerkin I would like to express how wonderful it is to have Tuina massage by your magic hands over the last few years, I feel much better, more relaxed and supercharged after every session. Hwaida, PA to cultural attache Laura has the rare ability to put me into a profound state of relaxation. During the tuina session the arm tremor stops along with my muscle rigidity. Any sense of personal stress is also eliminated. I have generally finished each session with a strong sense of personal wellbeing. Semi-retired businessman After seeing you last time (for tuina) I felt pain free for the first time in ages and so energised I wanted to stay up all evening to enjoy the sensation. Debra, artist |
About Taiji & QigongQigong is my way forward. When I started about 3 years ago at Morley College I struggled with almost everything but I saw it as a sign of how much I needed it so I persevered to come to the harmony I saw in it. Now it has become part of my life. I like to feel the Qi flowing, my hands warm, my mind peaceful.
Cecelia, basic skills tutor I like the simplicity and grace of Qigong. Laura personifies these qualities as a teacher Ursula, therapist I'm experiencing a steady, ongoing increase in my energy levels, and I'm getting much more rest from my sleep. After my morning Qigong session I feel a surge in umph and optimism and tend to crack on, get a lot more done each day than in the past. Michael, journalist I gave it a try because I enjoyed the Chinese massage in spite of my negative prejudice to taiji and it has changed my life. I feel at the end as if I have had a massage - relaxed and smoothed out. I like being outside for two hours unable to do anything else and often I am not thinking of all those thoughts that usually crowd my head. I also enjoy seeing the other people who go to the class. Caroline, student I have benefitted greatly from Tai Chi. Laura's persuasive and supportive attitude have given me a much more positive attitude to life. Roy, retired head teacher I have a scoliosis (twisted spine)... during these last two years I have trained with Laura first with... qigong exercise and taiji which has not only strengthened and improved my posture and provided me with a new skill and interest, but almost without noticing it I can sit upright by preference without support and with my spine erect. My shoulders, arms, legs and back have also become more muscular, not like a body builder, but nevertheless with noticeable muscular definition and I am much fitter and healthier. Laura has taught me how to use my energy more effectively, how to focus and concentrate to perform the movements better, and how to sense my body’s centre, root and balance. This naturally leads to the additional advantages of having a sense of well being, and of being both more relaxed and yet more alert. I continue to attend Laura's classes and to benefit from her excellent teaching. John, retired psychotherapist |
